How does Broadline work with 911 calls.  Will the call show up with my address?
Broadline supports E-911 within our normal operating footprint.  E-911 is the service that automatically gives the Emergency Services your address.  If you are ordering service OUTSIDE of your local ratecenter, then we cannot support E-911.  For example, say you live in Ft.Lauderdale but want a Miami phone number.  We cannot offer E-911 since your service address is not in the Miami area.

Will my fax machine work with Broadline's service?
Although faxing works for the majority of our customers, there is still a substantial issue with fax use with VOIP services.  This is due to issues with the particular fax machine or the internet connectivity.  Packet loss is the leading cause of fax failure. Our technicians will troubleshoot a fax issue with individual customers, but can not guarantee a solution.

Does Broadline work over a “High Speed” Dialup?
No, Broadline does not work over ANY type of dialup service.  Broadline requires some kind of Broadband Internet connnection (Cable-Modem or DSL*).  *It is important to remember that before transferring your existing number, please make sure the number you are moving is NOT associated with the phone line that your DSL runs over so when we move your phone line we don’t disconnect your DSL service.

I just received the MTA and installed it. I can dial outside but it's not receiving incoming calls.
If you signed up to move your existing number, we set up your number on our side and after you have tested our service and are ready to move your service, you let us know and we contact your existing provider (You don't have to) and schedule the move.

Is there any other form of billing besides credit card auto pay?
We now offer a paper bill as an option for $2.50 a month in addition to the online payment and credit card Auto pay.

Why do I have a busy signal from phone 2 on the MTA?
You will get a busy signal on Phone2 when there is no second line set up to your MTA.  Phone2 is NOT a second jack for the connection on Phone1, but is instead a completely different line.  You can have 2 different phone lines set up on the same MTA.

What is the busy sound before I get dial tone?
What you are hearing is called a Stutter Tone.  This tone indicates that you have a voicemail message waiting for you.

How much bandwidth does Broadline use while making a phone call?
The Broadline service uses approximately 100kb of bandwidth to complete a call over the internet.

Do I just cancel my other phone service?
We do that for you if you are moving your existing number, but if you get a new number from us and you decide to cancel your traditional phone service, then yes, you would have to cancel that yourself.  We can only deal with your previous carrier in regards to the phone number that you are transferring to Broadline.  If you have any other numbers that have not been addressed by Broadline, then those too would have to be canceled by you.
